As part of the 2017 Austin ISD Bond Program, the New Northeast Middle School will be built in Mueller to serve the northeast Austin community, with capacity for 800 students. Going back over 20 years as part of the Mueller Masterplan and other planning efforts, 10 acres in Mueller were identified and set aside for a public community school. While planning the 2017 Bond Program, AISD worked with Catellus (Mueller’s master developer) and the City of Austin to plan for building the New Northeast Middle School on the designated parcel. The Anticipated Opening Date is currently August 2022.
