MNA Steering Committee Chair John Wooding shared the following message to share the virtual October MNA General Meeting, and you can find links to the videos of each segment below.
Dear Neighbors,
Since we’re still unable to meet in person, I’ve kept us digital for our October General Meeting. Since the MNA’s Accountability Sessions for AISD will be taking place during our usual meeting time, we will revert back to how we’ve conducted meetings digitally in the past.
Similar to previous months’ digital meetings, below you will find a pre-recorded video for each item on the agenda and information on who to contact if you have any questions. The POA doesn’t have an update for us this month, so we’ll hear more from them at our meeting in November.
Here are a couple of quick reminders from the MNA:
- MNA Accountability Session for AISD. The MNA is hosting our very first Accountability Session on Saturday, October 17th, 2020, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. This is an online event and additional information will be sent so community members can attend. We will be live streaming the session to the MNA Facebook page. The vent will also be recorded and aired periodically until Election Day, Tuesday, November 3, 2020 for those who aren’t able to attend.
- Steering Committee Election – Saturday, November 21st. The annual Steering Committee election is right around the corner! Please consider running for membership in the Steering Committee, which works to develop the quality of life, safety and character of the neighborhood. You can self-nominate using this form and will need to attend the virtual membership meeting on Saturday, November 21st at 10 a.m. Details of how to attend the November general meeting, to be held via Zoom, will be published in next month’s newsletter and on our website and social media pages.
- 2020 Elections. Early voting for the 2020 Presidential Join General and Special elections begins on Tuesday, October 13th and ends on Friday, October 30th. Election day is on Tuesday, November 3. For more information on polling locations and to see what’s on the ballot, visit www.votetravis.com.
I’ve also included a link to the City of Austin’s COVID-19 page that has a dashboard displaying infographics and the latest information on the disease here in Travis County as well as a list of resources for folks that need any type of assistance.
Stay safe and take care!
John
