This year’s Mueller Egg Scramble was held on Saturday, March 31, at Ella Wooten Park.  In the weeks prior to the event, under the guidance of Egg Scramble organizers Richard Wood and Leila Melhem, volunteers from around the community filled eggs for the children in their families who would be participating and brought them to collection points.  On the morning of the big day, they helped to hide the eggs around the park.

The kids came dressed appropriately for the occasion, with empty baskets ready for the action to begin.

The egg hunt began with the 0-2 age group, then continued for children ages 3-4 and 5+.

Soon the baskets were filled to everyone’s satisfaction.

Of course, the Mueller Bunny was on hand to greet everyone, dispense more candy, and pose for pictures with the young and young at heart.

Activities included bounce houses, face painting, hair chalking, and a petting zoo.

The Mueller Egg Scramble is brought to you by the Mueller Neighborhood Association (MNA) and supported by businesses in and around the community.  This year’s sponsors were Neighborhood Navigators HEB, Seton Healthcare Family, and Neighbors Emergency Center; Tower of Support Frost Bank; and First Class Partners Alamo Drafthouse.  Also lending support were Friends of the MNA DMA, Kathy Farley Real Estate, Kathy Sokolic – Green City Realty, and the YMCA East Communities Branch; Social Butterfly Catellus; and In-Kind Donators Haute Salon, Colleen’s Kitchen, and L’Oca D’Oro.

The MNA was represented by Lila Valencia, chair of the MNA Steering Committee, and Preston “Ty” Tyree, vice chair.  Other Steering Committee members who staffed the MNA tent and encouraged residents to join the organization were Dan Updegrove, Joan Quenan, Luke Downs, and Alison Raffalovich.
