The 2017 Mueller Fourth of July Parade and Festival, sponsored by the Mueller Neighborhood Association, was a musical affair.  Commencing with a costume and bike decorating contest in Paggi Square, the parade marched toward the festival site at Ella Wooten Park.  Hundreds of neighbors joined the route with their pets and wheeled vehicles of all designs. Leading the music were the venerable Mueller Kazoo Band.

Festivities at Ella Wooten Park included games and prizes, treats like watermelon and cupcakes, and an opportunity to climb aboard a working fire truck. The Mueller Community Singers performed patriotic and folk songs, and the festival closed with the singing of The Star Spangled Banner.

The success of this year’s event depended on the tireless efforts of organizers Jean Crawford and Evan McLendon with help from other members of the MNA Steering Committee and numerous volunteers from the Mueller community.  Thanks also to the many community and business sponsors who provided treats and assistance with running the games.
